Rhys Davies Pens New Three-Year Deal
Former Wales Under-20s Lock Returns to Home Club
Ospreys lock signs new three-year deal after season-ending knee injury
Rhys Davies has signed a new three-year contract with the Ospreys, the region where he started his career.
The 22-year-old lock returned to his home club in 2020 having spent time across the border with the Dragons.
Davies has been a regular in the Ospreys team this season, making 15 appearances in all competitions.
However, his season was cut short in March when he suffered a knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
Despite the setback, Davies is determined to come back stronger next season and help the Ospreys challenge for silverware.
"I'm really pleased to have signed a new contract with the Ospreys," said Davies.
"This is my home region and I'm proud to represent them."
"I've had a tough time with injuries this season, but I'm determined to come back stronger next season and help the team achieve our goals."
Ospreys head coach Toby Booth is delighted to have secured Davies' services for the next three years.
"Rhys is a talented young player who has a bright future ahead of him," said Booth.
"He's a physical presence in the lineout and he's also a good ball carrier."
"I'm looking forward to seeing him continue to develop in the coming seasons and I'm confident that he can become a key player for us."
