Anderson Niangbo signs for FC Augsburg

Young Ivorian striker joins Bundesliga club

Ivory Coast international Anderson Niangbo has joined FC Augsburg from KAA Gent, the German club announced on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old striker has signed a four-year contract with Augsburg and will join the squad ahead of the 2022/23 season. Niangbo is a product of the KAA Gent academy and made his debut for the Belgian club in 2018. He has since made 89 appearances for Gent, scoring 22 goals. The young striker has also represented Ivory Coast at international level, making his debut in 2021. He was part of the Ivory Coast squad that won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Niangbo is a highly-rated young striker and is seen as one of the most promising talents in Ivory Coast. He is expected to play a key role for Augsburg in the upcoming season.
