Trophy Trot Taste of the Championship Media Day 2024

Michigan's punishing running game and swarming defense ended in a 34-13 victory over Purdue in the Big Ten championship game. The victory clinched a berth in the College Football Playoff for the Wolverines, who will face No. 3 TCU in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Michigan's defense was dominant throughout the game, holding Purdue to just 258 total yards. The Wolverines also forced three turnovers, including two interceptions by cornerback Jalen Perry. Michigan's offense was led by running back Blake Corum, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

The victory was a big one for Michigan, which was left out of the College Football Playoff last year despite finishing the regular season with a 12-1 record. The Wolverines are now one of four teams remaining in contention for the national championship.

The College Football Playoff is set and the selection committee made the controversial move of leaving out Alabama. The Crimson Tide finished the regular season with an 11-1 record, but they were left out of the playoff in favor of No. 4 Ohio State. The Buckeyes finished the regular season with a 12-1 record and won the Big Ten championship game.
