Championship Play-Off race heating up as season enters final stretch

Blackpool and Birmingham suffer contrasting fortunes in Play-Off race

Peterborough climb to third with comfortable victory

The race for the Championship Play-Offs is heating up as the season enters its final stretch, with a number of teams still in contention for a top-six finish. Blackpool's hopes of a Play-Off place suffered a blow as they came from behind to lose 3-1 at home to Birmingham City on Saturday. The Blues, who had a player sent off in the second half, moved up to third in the table with the win, while Blackpool dropped to fifth.

Peterborough United climbed to third in the Championship table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over 10-man Birmingham City on Saturday. The Posh took the lead through Jonson Clarke-Harris in the first half, and Sammie Szmodics and Jack Taylor added further goals after the break. Birmingham's hopes of a Play-Off place were dented by the defeat, as they dropped to fifth in the table.

The Championship Play-Offs will see the teams finishing in third to sixth place compete for a place in the Premier League. The semi-finals will be played over two legs, with the winners meeting in the final at Wembley Stadium.
